Email Marketing

As email marketing is what GetResponse is best known for, it’s no surprise that, as an email marketing software, GetResponse is one of the best options available.
Their drag-and-drop email editor makes creating engaging and responsive emails very easy, and if you don’t want to create something from scratch, GetResponse has a host of email templates for you to choose from or edit as you so choose.
Additionally, there is an e-commerce section of the email creator where you can add product boxes or recommended product blocks, but you can only do this if you’ve set your store up with GetResponse.
Once you’ve finished designing your email, you can choose to either send your campaign immediately or set a time for your recipients to receive your emails. Or, as another option, a “perfect timing” feature ensures your subscribers will receive that email at the best time based on when they opened previous emails from you.

Additionally, with your email templates you can choose to set up an autoresponder to greet your subscribers as they join your list, and automate emails that you would otherwise have to send yourself.
These autoresponders can do more than just welcome your contacts, however. You can run an email-based online course, recycle your used content, present subscribers with upselling or cross-selling opportunities, or celebrate milestones based on customer data like customer anniversaries or birthdays.
Automation Features

GetResponse marketing automation is a key feature of the platform, especially if users want to put the sales process on autopilot.
Using their automation tool, users can create automation workflows that capture and convert new leads using advanced automation features such as individual contact profiles, unlimited tags, integrations with platforms like Shopify, WordPress, PayPal, and more; and an automated conversion funnel feature.

The GetResponse funnel builder is the culmination of all of GetResponse’s features, helping users create high-converting funnels that are near guaranteed to turn visitors into customers.
To build a funnel, you have to choose what your goals is. This could be selling a product, building a list, promoting a webinar, or whatever else you can think of.
From there, you are given access to a wide variety of lead magnets courtesy of GetResponse, but if you have your own lead magnet already prepared, you can use yours as well.
After that, you’re sent to a full-on guide telling you what to do to complete your funnel; things like getting more sign-ups, sharing your lead magnet, and connecting with already-established contacts.
This conversion automation feature takes much of the guesswork away from developing your own high-converting campaign built with landing pages, sign-up forms, and emails.

Overall, the marketing automation tools GetResponse offers are incredibly user-friendly, and their automation builder allows users to create a custom sales funnel where they can nurture leads and convert new and existing customers.
Additionally, GetResponse offers dozens of automation templates for many purposes, anything from contact retargeting to webinar promotion to list cleaning. On top of that, there is a section dedicated to affiliate marketers, where they can promote their courses and webinars while cross-selling at the same time.
Email Analytics

Sending an email campaign to your subscriber list is one thing; improving it is an entirely different beast. Even if you’ve created the best email campaign ever, you might not know that if you can’t track the campaign’s analytics.
GetResponse, as many email marketing platforms do, gives users actionable data with their email marketing analytics, allowing users to monitor email marketing KPIs (key performance indicators) to make data-driven decisions to improve their campaigns.
These statistics include deliverability, bounce rate, emails opened, links clicked, unsubscribe rates, and much more that can help users get a grasp on what can be improved with their campaigns.

On that topic, GetResponse allows users to A/B split test their email campaigns to learn what made their campaigns perform as they did, and make changes to subject lines, text/video content, or CTAs to see if their campaigns can perform better.
GetResponse’s analytics aren’t limited to specific sections of the platform, like one section for ecommerce, one section for automation, et cetera. With digital marketing reports, GetResponse gathers data from your contact list, marketing automations, autoresponders, and ecommerce setup to provide users with wider-picture insights with all of your data in one place.
Transactional Emails

If you’re running an e-commerce site, then you need more from GetResponse than the standard email marketing features GetResponse email marketing boasts.
You need a tool that’ll send transactional emails, things like abandoned cart emails, receipt emails after transactions, welcome email, et cetera.
GetResponse allows users to connect their CMS (content management system) straight to GetResponse so their emails can be fully automated, sent within one second, and with 99% email deliverability.
This makes it easy for users to win back lost sales through time-sensitive emails and reminders which remind customers to buy more or to complete abandoned orders. Additionally, users gain actionable analytics from their emails, with features like sent email volume, open/click/bounce rates, and your send history being easily available.
Landing Page Builder

Similarly to the GetResponse email editor, the GetResponse landing page editor offers over 100 free landing page templates, each designed for a different purpose (e.g. one for promotions, one for downloads, one for sales, etc.). If you want to create your own landing pages, however, you have all the freedom in the world to do so with their drag-and-drop editor.
Once you’re in the editor, you can A/B test your landing pages by navigating to the top bar of the page and clicking the “+” sign, where you can create as many variants as you need.
A/B split testing is vital for any email campaign, as without it, improving you email campaigns is like shooting in the dark. With the information gained from an A/B test, you can easily determine which changes actually make a difference, and make adjustments accordingly.
Once you’re ready to publish your landing pages, you can choose between four URL subdomain options: “gr8.com”, “subscribemenow.com”, “getresponsepages.com”, or you can add your own domain. Adding your own domain is the best option for your landing pages, as now those landing pages have the power of your brand behind them.
E-Commerce Features

If you’re a user with an online store or products to sell, GetResponse may be the best email marketing software for you. GetResponse features over 100 e-commerce integrations that can be implemented with one click, such as Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, and more. If you can’t find the integration you need, however, users have full access to the GetResponse API so they can create whatever integration they want.
Building off of previously-mentioned features such as analytics and automation, GetResponse applies these features to the commercial aspects of your website as well. You can segment subscribers based on purchases or purchase intent, and nurture your leads via automated email sequences with the intent of driving purchases.
Mobile App

Unlike many email marketing tools, GetResponse allows users to manage campaigns, collect leads, and stay up-to-date from anywhere with their GetResponse mobile app. The user interface isn’t worse on mobile devices either; you can customize your real-time dashboard to view all your important statistics and campaigns simultaneously.
Their mobile apps are split into three categories: GetResponse Chats, GetResponse Webinars, and GetResponse Social Ads Creator.

GetResponse Chats is the premier way for GetResponse users to make direct contact with customers and make more sales. Real-time interaction with your customers helps to create deeper connections and pushes them down the sales funnel much more quickly.
You can enable chats directly from your landing pages, engaging customers the moment they click onto your landing page. Additionally, you can use GetResponse Chats on your own website, and customize the window to your heart’s desire.

GetResponse Webinars is the best way to take your webinars on the go, allowing users to host webinars from their mobile devices. These webinars can be joined from any mobile browser; no app or installation is needed. You can record your webinars, have live conversations in the webinar’s chat, and engage with interactive features all on the go.
These webinars can lead to webinar funnels, which people will be more likely to go down if you’ve built a relationship with them via your webinar.
You can monetize your expertise using these webinar funnels, collecting more email addresses and making sales even if your webinars are pre-recorded.
With over 30,000 ads posted using the app, GetResponse Social Ads Creator is one of the simplest social ad creators for e-commerce sites to spread their names with.
Users can access over 200 animated templates, but if you don’t want to use those templates, you can have GetResponse Social Ads Creator create promo videos and banners automatically.
All you need is photos of your product, names, and prices, and GetResponse will automatically create quality branded promotional videos, banners, and slideshows.
GetResponse Pricing
GetResponse offers users a freemium plan supporting up to 500 contacts and 2,500 newsletters/mo. This also comes with a drag-and-drop email editor with templates, sign-up forms, and the ability to build and host 1 website with 5GB bandwidth.
SIDE NOTE: to calculate how much bandwidth your website needs, do the following:
- Estimate the average page size of your website and its pages in kilobytes (KB).
- Multiply that number (again, in KB) by your monthly average visitor count.
- Multiply that number by the average number of page views per visitor.
If you aren’t sure about your page size, use Pingdom’s Loading Time test on your pages and take the average of those numbers. Not only will it show your page size, but also grade your site’s load time/performance as well.
Anyways, back to GetResponse pricing.
GetResponse offers three plans, plus an enterprise plan: an Email Marketing plan, a Marketing Automation plan, and an Ecommerce Marketing plan. You can take all three of these plans for a spin with the 30-day free trial GetResponse offers. Finally, for enterprise use cases, there is the GetResponse Max plan.

GetResponse Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Free-forever plan with useful features to help businesses start email marketing easily.
- Simple user-friendly interface, to help new users create their email campaigns simply.
- Drag-and-drop editor for both websites and emails makes building either incredibly intuitive and quick.
- Website builder plus AI design tool helps users build websites even faster.
- Tons of templates in case you want to skip the building and hit the ground running with your email campaigns.
- Conversion funnel features to make building high-converting sales funnels simple.
Cons:
- No phone support unless you opt for the GetResponse MAX plan; dedicated customer support is also relegated to the MAX plan. Email support is available for all plans, however.
- Somewhat lacking contact management features, e.g. contact list management or contact tagging.
- Inconvenient analytics tool, which makes analyzing your campaigns and improving more difficult.
GetResponse Review Conclusion: is it right for you?
In this GetResponse review, I’ve illuminated the fact that Getresponse is one of the best email marketing services simply because of how much it can do. You have everything you’ll need in one tool to build a successful business without having to juggle several tools at once.
Not only that, but it is incredibly user friendly; with its intuitive interface and drag-and-drop editor, you can build any landing page or email marketing campaign you can imagine.
And, even if you don’t want to build your own, GetResponse’s host of email templates can completely remove that step for you to get on the road with your email campaigns as quickly as possible.
However, GetResponse isn’t for everyone. GetResponse’s advanced features are good and all, but if all you are looking for is a solid, barebones email marketing platform (like EmailOctopus, for example), then GetResponse’s feature suite might seem like overkill.
Nonetheless, GetResponse is one of the best email marketing tools for outfits of all sizes, from solopreneurs to small businesses to enterprise operations.
